My Story

Every piece begins with an idea

Sometimes it starts with a color that catches my eye. Sometimes it’s a beautiful stone, a shimmering mineral, an interesting piece of texture—or simply the feeling I get when different colors and materials come together.

I’m Teri, the artist and storyteller behind Textured Story Design.

I’ve always been drawn to creating. Interior design taught me to notice the little things—the balance of color, texture, shape and the way a beautiful object can completely change the feeling of a space.

But it wasn’t until I discovered acrylic paint pouring, resin and mixed-media art that I found a way to bring all of those things together.

What began as curiosity quickly became something much bigger. I started experimenting with layers of paint, pigments, metallics, crystals, natural elements, and unexpected textures on different mediums. I loved watching something develop that could never be completely duplicated. One layer would lead to another, and suddenly a piece had a personality of its own.

That is where Textured Story Design was born.

I don’t believe beautiful art has to simply hang on a wall. I want my pieces to become part of the spaces and stories of the people who bring them home.

And that’s what I love most about creating them.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Each one becomes its own little chapter.

My hope is that when you find your Chapter in a Story, you don’t just see something beautiful—you feel something.

Maybe it reminds you of a place you’ve been, a color you love, a moment you remember, or simply makes you smile every time you walk past it.

Because that is the reason I create.

QUALITY MATERIALS

Beautiful work starts with beautiful materials. I use high-quality paints, pigments, and mica powders chosen for their color, depth, and ability to create the textures and dimension that make each piece unique. My resins are selected for quality, low VOCs, and UV resistance to help preserve the beauty of the finished work.

MADE FOR THE WAY YOU LIVE

Beauty should be practical, too. For pieces designed to come in contact with food, I use resin intended for food-contact applications when properly cured and maintained. For coasters and other pieces designed to handle heat, I use high-heat-resistant resin appropriate for that purpose. Each piece comes with care guidance so you know how to enjoy it and protect the finish.

CUSTOM STORIES

Sometimes the right piece doesn't exist yet. That's where a custom story begins. I can create a piece around your colors, your space, your vision — or simply an idea you've been carrying around. Together, we can create something that feels like it belongs exactly where it is.
