Gilded Merlot

Gilded Merlot began with a simple pour painting in rich berry, charcoal and champagne tones. Rose-gold leaf was added, bringing flashes of warmth and metallic light to the flowing surface.

As I worked with it, I started seeing the possibilities of dimension, texture and movement—and that experimentation eventually led me into the sculpted resin work that has become such an important part of my art.
